33. Learn to Purl

I finally figured out how to purl! I've tried several times and had a bunch of expert knitters try to help me, but alas, I just could not figure out how to "knit backwards," which is what some people like to call purling. I was finally able to do it when I spent several hours watching different videos. Using my new-found skill, I made a scarf and a hat for a friend. I used a pattern I found in The Chicks with Sticks Guide to Knitting. The pattern was really easy and I think the hat and scarf turned out really nice. The color might have been a bad choice, orange doesn't look good on everyone, but I think she will like it. I'm going to give it to her for Christmas so it will be a little while before I have a picture of her with it.
Now that I can purl, I plan on spending much more time knitting. Maybe I'll try and make a sweater one day. I also love that I found out about all the knitting instruction videos that are available on youtube.
